Your Magic Store?

Postby planetrock » Dec 6th, '08, 07:43

I don't know where I can post these questions.

Mod Please help.

Where do you buy your magic tricks at? And why do you buy it there?

Good promotions?
Good services?
Fast Shipping?

Given that you're in the US, quite a lot of replies probably won't be of any use to you, this being a UK-based site.

Happy to tell you about UK based online shops if you want but I expect I'd be wasting my time, so all I can may is The Magic Depot in the US has always served me well, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't serve one of it's fellow natives just as well! Pretty cheap prices (certainly compared to UK stores), good deals, cheap delivery and very friendly and helpful service.

I buy a lot of my stuff from Alakazam - simply because they have a lot of what I want (what I really really want) and no one else does.

Usually my first point of call though would be world magic shop - simply because they have a great selection and very accomodating staff. It helps a lot when you know who you are talking to and trust their opinions on things.

I tend to use Card Collection (Cards4Magic) mainly for accessories. No one does accessories quite like them. No one.

I have at some point though ordered from most of the big UK sellers and many of the US ones - simply because quite often they have exclusive items. Mostly the service is good and I have my favourites - I also have some I would rather not order from. The ones I go bak to are the ones who are most helpful on the end of the phone. Mike Danata for example is always a pleasure to talk to.

I have had excellent results from the following:

MagicProShop
Madhatter International
Magic Depot

Circle City Magic
Wizard Headquarters Online
I-magicnation

Fast shipping, and from MagicProShop it's usually free in the USA over a certain amount...$20-30. All usually run some good specials, too.

From the US, I've also ordered from Magic Depot, Hank Lee and Viking Magic and have had no problems with them shipping to Europe so I wouldn't think that internal shipping across the USA will be any problem.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
