Centre Deal Demo

Postby babyshanks » Dec 8th, '08, 15:35

Just a quickey of me faking out a Centre Deal, would love to hear what you guys think. It's not the best angle for a Pass but I gave it a go anyway :D

Thanks!

It's not a demo then, is it? I loved the cheesy music more than anything, but if you take a look at Martin Nash's Infinity and Beyond, he does a fake demonstration of the center deal, yet they really are coming from the center. He just makes it a little easier for himself

Gotta love cheesy jazz

I've been desperately trying to get my hands on some of Martin Nash's material. Well, I say material, I mean his book Sleight Unseen. Searched everywhere but can;t seem to find one. Ebay have got a few of his DVD's but it's that book I'm mostly interested in.

I have though got some Centre Deal Demo's knocking around. I'm actually trying to iron out my dodgy Out-Faro for a demo in Darwin Ortiz's Cardshark book, but I predict it's going to take a while before I can hit the Faro everytime.

Also, could you explain why the video is not a centre deal demo? I was under the impression that as long as the audience thinks the cards are coming from the centre, it surely is a demo?

Thanks for replying though!

The wink, coming from a cardman, just meant your not really dealing from the center, which I would've liked to see. Oops, there it is again!

The Out-Faro is exactly the same as the In-Faro, well difficulty wise, honestly, if you can nearly perfect Faro, open up a new deck and spend an hour or two solely Faroing, by the end you'll be hitting them everytime.

Ahh I apologise for being silly! Yea, trust me, I would have loved to see me Centre Deal aswell!!

It's not getting the Faro in or out as such, it's making sure all the cards weave together. Usually I get 1 or 2 pairs which don't follow suit and decide to stay together, but most of the deck does faro the way I would like it to. That's why the centre deal demo in Darwin Ortiz's book is a good bet because you don't need to hit the faro everytime, just the top portion of the pack is good enough.

I'll try opening a new pack and just Faroing it with any spare time I have. It's incredibly hard hitting them everytime, but that may be because last time I had a Faro session I realised the deck I was using was minus a card, which didn't help too much.

This looks very good. I suppose a great fake is always better than a poor performance of the "real move" in our craft.

I thought it looked very effective. I share your problems with the Faro! I've never managed a perfect faro yet

After one night of boredom and a lot of blackadder reruns, I did 15, 8 perfect full deck faros. In otherwords, I shuffled the deck to it's original order with 8 faros, 15 times. It is oh so satisfying, especially with "Unshuffled"
