Thanks everyone - all of the suggestions were good. I've been practising a switch that a few of you have suggested: the one where a selection is outjogged and then switched as it is pulled out.

Queenie I actually have your suggestion in my repertoire already, but I just didn't think of it. Instant fix! Cheers.

As for card mucking, well I wish I was good enough!

Convincing Control is excellent.

If you want to have the spectators card in your hand you may wish to consider Marol's Miracle Change.

Ernest Earick's version of the Convincing Control should work very nicely here. The main advantage is you only use one hand, no need to raise your left hand at all. Can even spread the cards face up and get the spec to say stop to select or they can touch the face of a card.
