I have an issue with funny coloured cards (any that are not blue or red), in that they potentially make spectators suspicion that the cards are not normal.
The only "good" use I can currently think of is one of the many chameleon deck effects.
For example you show that you are dealing with a normal red deck, and ask the spectator to select a random card and remember it, and lo and behold the whole deck turns green apart from their selected card. The trick goes on to a phase two, but that is the gist.
The st Patricks day thinking for this is nice, and it has that added shock value, as the deck didn't even turn from red to blue, it turned green for goodness sakes!
It is a lot though for an effect that can only be done on St Patricks day.
I guess you could introduce the red deck saying that it belonged to your grandfather who was irish and he swore blind that it was given to him by the wee leprechauns. At that point the deck has a reason to be in play and other "non green" effects could be done.
Maybe it belonged to a member of green peace?
Maybe their is an "envious" card effect?
