Logging in

Postby Tenko » Oct 6th, '08, 01:34

I've just been away for the weekend. For the third time recently I've been logged off while away and have had to log back in, yet having done so, there are no new posts after logging in, why ?? Something is wrong ?? Surely !! Every day there are dozens of posts, but when it decides to log me out, there are none !!

Help appreciated

From midnight on Friday to 9am this morning there were a total of 70 new posts - about a quarter of the usual amount. Perhaps all those out at Regional Meetings are the ones who post the most  ?!

I think this happens when the phpBB software that runs the board is upgraded. Everyone it logged out of the back end database to ensure there's no data loss.

The new message thingy never works for me, it's always telling me I haven't read things that I have and have read what I haven't.

Basically, when they upgrade the software that runs TalkMagic, you get logged out.

Either that or your cookie for this site (or rather, the part of it that says you're already logged in) keeps expiring.

Whenever for some reason I lose my cookies for TM I lose all my unread posts data. I just see it as one of those oddities of phpbb we all learn to love :)
