I suppose I'd better fill this one in.

Good morning gentlemen and ladies, and all those in between,

My name is Dom, and I love and hate magic in equal measure.

I love the mental and creative challenge, and the sheer white-knuckle thrill of performing. I'm massively fond of the history and roots of magic, as well as it's more recent developments.

I hate the deception and fuzziness of the whole business, specifically the tendancy for less-than-honest dealer ads, and the way that online forums and magic clubs tend to drift towards phallus-waving contests. This is the first time I've contributed to an on-line forum in many years, and with a due sense of dread I commit my thoughts to a public space.

I have a deep and abiding belief that magic can be something honestly and truely special, and an equally strong belief that it very rarely is.

On the other hand, you don't have to fight the fights you can win :)

Welcome to TM, Dom!

You raise quite a few excellent points in your post. I suspect you're not alone in them here. I for one am with you regarding your perceptions associated with nearly every kind of entertainment business and online forums as well. ;)

I think this when ever I'm invited to a phallus waving contest.

An imaginary biscuit for that man! :)

Thank you for making me smile

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.
