late on Christmas Eve my brothers car was stolen.

Christmas turned into a living hell for personal and family reasons.

Then the day after boxing day, I got abuse and a reprimand from my boss for doing my job exactly as hes taught me (it turns out staff are complaining to him when I actually make them do any work)

I'm green and slimey as I'm stuck at home with D&V today. Oh yes, country and western... Sigfried and Roy...

I've just been shafted on a project I've been working on internally for my company for the last six months. There were talking such absolute c*** (not the best) that I had to take control, so that we could actually produce a working product.

But as of this morning:

a) They're not going to pay me or my underling anything for it (despite paying other people for stupid parts of it, like coming up with the name) and promising as such, of course.

b) They are now asking that we support it in perpetua and for free, because they didn't bother to work out any way of doing it themselves, despite that being one of the clear objectives.

I've made a backup of it, and my finger's hovering over the delete button. Hmmm.

I'm sure there's a legal challenge you can make in there somewhere!!!!

I have a cracking headache from straining my eyes too much at training today.
And my new role in the company is probably going to be less fun than my old one for the same pay

Literally green and slimey - I've spent today so far helping the plumbers sort out our drains. We've been waiting to have them done for ages, because our landlord hires a rubbish plumber (presumably he's a mate or he's cheap), who - after we'd spent over a week of not being able to use the kitchen sink - took one look at it and said he couldn't do it, we needed specialists.

The big boys came today and they've been really friendly and helpful, and actually sorted out the problem. But it's caused a major mess which we'll now have to clean up, and it's stopped me from getting some pretty necessary work done.

Apparently our landlord wants us to pay half because it's "our fault", even though the drains have not worked properly since we moved in

refuse to pay it - he's responsible for the upkeep, unless you've been pouring obviously "blocking up" material..like fat and other stuff...

and also remind him that as he took his time in the repairs, technically you can withold rent for him not keeping the place usable and in a fit state..

health and safety and all that...

I guess it depends on the terms of the lease, if it says you have to contribute you're probably lumbered. If not then he pays, it's his property and his responsibility.

I think it does say we're responsible (or partially responsible) for the state of the drains, and to be fair we've not always been great at not pouring food down them, but still...

Anyway, one of my attractive housemates gave the head plumber guy an eyelash-batting look of pity, and he knocked £100 of his usual price So it's only gonna work out a tenner each for half the bill, which is probably OK! Plus - we've got drains that work! It feels like a luxury

Plus now we've been extremely reasonable to the landlord, when something else happens we'll play hard ball.

I've been off work since Monday because of the bloody snow and I have been perfectly happy wallowing around my house looking for food. But now, after multiple trips to the fridge, each one resulting in an empty gaze into the fridge at the disappointment of no food spontaneously appearing, I had to leave the house in search for something to eat.

Left the house, walked round the corner to my car to find my friendly neighbours, whilst clearing the snow off of/out of the way of thier own cars, have just piled it up all around my beautifully new car, resulting in absolutely no access to my car. Even if I could get in, I couldn't drive it anywhere because there is a mound of snow infront of it reaching up over the bonnet.

I refuse to use a shovel. I may go out later and park it in the nicely gritted parking space of the opposite neighbour, who just happens to be a t***.

I have sinusitis, can't breathe whilst laying down, have lost all feeling in one side of my nose, can't taste anything and have to sit in bed in pain all day

One of my best friends is seriously ill in hospital
