Fees - Just Curious

Postby moodini » Dec 31st, '08, 00:31

On the heels of another post that got me thinking curiously....thought I would start one on fees (confirmed or otherwise) that you know some of the major performers (copperfield, Burton, Pen & Teller, Derren Brown, Etc) charge for bookings...Not that I am thinking of booking any of them, but just curious as to what fee ranges the big names charge, I thought it would be fun food for thought!

Anyone?

Derren Brown would doubtless be several thousand pounds for a couple of hours.

I am involved with booking our bretheren from the psychic side of the fence, and know that the big names (Most Haunted type people) charge around £700 per night (eg 4 hours) plus travel expenses and (usually) overnight accomodation.

I've always wondered how much Derren's 45 minute show that he advertises on his website costs!

I'll see him in a couple of days so I'll confirm this but I have a Greek friend who wanted DB for his 21st birthday. Was told it'd be about £3000 totalled.

See that's not at all bad is it, really? When you think of the level he's at. There's probably more parents than you think who could afford that if the event was big enough. I was fairly shocked to discover that the average amount spent on presents at Christmas by my middle-aged aquaintances was about a grand and they're pretty average earners so a bit of a credit card dent for Derren shouldn't be a prob?

I was under the impression that Copperfield was in the upper six figures (USD) to perform....anyone else heard otherwise?
