I've just bought a giant bike deck out of pure interest and was wondering what routines others use them for?

I was thinking of using them for some prediction type effects but I'm sure that there are many more effects that I haven't thougt of yet.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone, particularly those that have used them in performances and can indicate the type of reaction.

Why not try a giant elmsley?

I havent don this on stage yet, but suprisingly, i find it easier to do the giant elmsley in the hands, rather than finger tips!

Or you could make a giant ID

The cards are 7 inches tall and 4 and a half inches wide. I have very large hands but even I'm pushing it to try to shuffle these, let alone trying to perform any slights like the elmsley count, frustration shuffle etc. I did think about making them into an ID but to be honest I would be worried about spreading the cards and the method then being revealed (unless anyone can convince me otherwise). It would probably take a couple of gallons of roughening fluid as well (lol).

This is why I was thinking about a prediction type routine as there are a number of forces where the handling of the cards isn't that important (I know the forces so no need to describe in any reply that's posted).

These sound like Jumbo cards, rather than Giant cards.
Each card should be exactly the same size as 4 ordinary cards.
You can use them for a number of effects, a good self worker registers with these, or an effect like Do as i do. Having the larger cards makes the effect look more imposible. You could use them for out of this world as well.
I have done card warp with Jumbo cards, A torn and restored with them, ..
Basicaly anything that can be done with Bridge or poker cards, can in theory be done with Jumbos, Including manipulations. Thereare several books on Jumbo card productions, and probably videos. I would do a search for Mahka Tendo for more on this..

The jumbos that I have, which are used for "B'Wave," I do an Elmsley count with (which isn't suggested in the original manuscript). In fact, it is the only time I do the Elmsley count, so don't think it is impossible - it is not.

For a comedy routine, have the chosen jumbo card replaced into a regular sized deck and find the card. Yes, it is goofy, but it gets good laughs!

You could do well to check out the Breakthrough Card System DVD by Richard Osterlind where despite only the first trick using a jumbo pack is nevertheless one of the greatest collection of mental card effects I've ever seen. The first effect (Card Calling) is great and doesn't neccessarily need jumbo cards but it is justifed when you watch it.
