...I have a tablehopping routine, it goes something like:

1. A Sankey button to various coin trick.
2. Chicago Opener, Triumph, <BLANK>
3. Spongeball Routine

What card trick would you have in <BLANK> space? Please don't reply with questions about skill and experience or "Why would you do this?" just fill in the blank.

Questions about skill or experience are relevant as there's no point saying to you to perform tricks you are not capable of doing!

Ok - perform some of Simon Aronson's memorised deck work then.

We have to ask questions, at least things like:

    1) How much time are you trying to fill?
    2) Do you want to continue using the same deck or is something along the lines of what Duplicity suggested an option?
    3) Since it is is on a line with two other card effects, is it safe to assume that you are looking for another card effect?

We're not trying to be difficult, and we are willing to help, but without some more details we are just guessing and, while some may like trying to guess at what you are really looking for, others may not even bother and you may not get the answer you are looking for.

There's not all that much point giving you a trick involviong a pass or some other complicated piece of manipulation if you can only just manage a riffle shuffle. People need to know at least a hint of what sort of trick you're looking for.

Personally, I'd probabaly do something using the chosen card from Triumph, perhaps a torn and restored card?

Obviously this is very vague, but I'd get rid of the cards somehow.

Maybe a vanishing deck, torn and restored card? Anything that leaves your hands empty for the sponge balls.

But putting the deck away would give a lovely oppurtunity to palm another ball.

You might be able to take the selected card and turn it into sponge balls.

Take the card in one hand while putting the deck away in the other. The hand that goes in the pocket would steal a few sponge balls. From this position, you can probably do Derren Brown's card to rose petals move from Devil's Picturebook to produce sponge balls.

Just do the 21 card trick then......... of course we're assuming that you can count to 21 and can do a top deal?

How about a multiple selection effect where you leave some of the spectators with signed cards as souveniers?

Heh, true.

Torn and restored would work then (if you used a version with an extra card, getting out the balls could dump the spare), or a packet trick (say, Reset from Art of Astonishment).

Maybe a vanishing deck that just leaves one card? Or even that gimmicked vanishing deck black sleeve thing, so you could put the sleeve away whilst palming the extra sponge.

Or.... card to pocket?

You could put together a routine where the (signed) card transposes a few times, ends up under the case, then the deck vanishes completely, and the card turns up in the pocket.

Or something.

Pointless trying to help this person. The bad attitude positively drips off the page. All you good people trying to help...wasting your time.

If they can't be bothered being civil and explaining their skill level, then why should anyone try and help?

It's obvious by how they've set up this "routine", that they don't often do so. As there is no segue/linking of effects from one to another. Nor any framework in which to work in.

Leave the thread be if he doesn't wish to grace us with any information. :)

How about Bill Malone's "Amazing 6 Card Trick" - that would flow nicely after Chicago and Triumph. Personally, though, I wouldn't perform Chicago Opener and a Triumph effect one after the other: they're paired so often in mediocre repertoires.
