Where to post and what happens next ?

Postby Hodgkinson » Nov 26th, '04, 19:37

Hi Everyone,

I have some items which I wish to swap for other effects.
Should I post these in the magic for sale or magic wanted category (with the preffered exchange effects as the topic and my items in the post).

Also, should I get an interested party in my goods, what happens next.
I can understand buying and selling.

Sale is agreed,
Money is sent from buyer to seller,
Seller recieves money, then sends item to buyer,
Item is recieved by buyer and everyone is happy.

but how does an online swap of items work ?

Swap is agreed...
Who sends item first, or is this a mutual effort ?

Sorry for my ignorance but I have not swapped anything over the net before.

Any pointers from TM members that have had experience of swaps would be very helpful. :)

ok firstly i would suggest you put it in the for sale category BUT i would read the rules regarding sales or trades of effects (VERY important) after that you have to agree with the person you are trading with over what sort of deal you will have between you.....

As to who posts first this is one of the hard parts of online trading.. the best and easiest way to do it is either both send at the same time

I understand that TalkMagic is not responsible for any transactions between users but it does concern me slightly that there are only two members on the trusted list.

There must have been more transactions than this.
Are people holding back on sending Mods PM's after a deal.
Maybe this should be made mandatory so we have a better idea of who we are dealing with.

I don't mean to sound cynical but I have had bad experiences on auction sites in the past.

Yup I understand your concern with only 2 members on the trusted list. The reason for this I think is simply laziness on the part of some members, who have not informed the mods of successful transactions. Maybe this can be a wake up call to remind members to do it???
