My first time here, help required

Postby dean20_00 » Jan 3rd, '09, 17:19

Hello all. I have been doing lots of reading of this site and its excellent.....

So a little thought maybe a little about me, im 27 and live in Hertfrodshire. I first become interested in magic when i was about 7 or 8. I went to see a Paul Daniels show at the savoy in west end, it was great, bizarely my dad was called up on stage to help out with the elcetric chair trick. Now i know more about it i may get him one! ha ha ha. When i was young i can remember numerous magic tv shows on of an evening but now nothing, I think that may explain my interest in the Masked Magician because its the only magic related thing on tv. I have just been to las vegas whth my girlfriend and was saw Lance Burton, Penn and Teller and David Copperfield all of which were great. I bought lots of tricks out there and some really cool things too am very much into different magic, not to say i dont like the odd card trick but i do like things with real visual impact such as fire magic and needle through arm and alike.

I am really looking forward to the 2009 convension in b/pool, myself and a friend will be there all weekend. can anyone offer any advise on the event. anything from where to park down to where to buy my magic from? Im gonna bring a selection of my finest credit cards in order to get some serious magic to bring back and perform.

Any tips advise anything really.

Really great to hear from you all.

Thank you so much for reading,

Regards, Dean.

How was Lance Burton and Penn and Teller? I saw David Copperfield in the Czech Republic a couple of years ago and I loved it..

Hi there, yeah we were both so lucky to b able to go to Vegas, it was wicked.... a holiday of a lifetime except we plan to go back in next few years. Lance Burton was great, Penn and Teller were great too and offer an excellent photo and autograph oppertunity outside in the foyer after their show a real nice bonus to a fantastic show. we had great seats for both shows. David Copperfield however.... he walked his way through the act putting in very little effort and finess. Maybe we caught a bad night but at $80 a ticket, id make sure i was on top form so not to dissapoint. By the way theres a great magic shop in the stratosphere, ask for a guy called Brad, so helpful and he'll do you a good deal. Tell him Dean sent ya ha ha ha.

So can anyone offer me any advice on Blackpool?

Dean

There are several previous threads about Blackpool 2009 so a bit of Searching will find them. As for buying magic, with over a hundred dealers ready and waiting to part you from your hard earned cash, you won't have any difficulty in buying stuff!

Parking could be a problem as most streets are double yellow lined but there are a couple of large car parks about 5 minute's walk away.
