Is Criss Angel leaving Cirque De Soleil's "Believe"

Postby archimage » Jan 8th, '09, 13:55

David Darkstone, whose name has popped up as a potential replacement for Criss Angel in Cirque du Soleil’s “Believe” (Luxor). Thoughts? info?

If true, not surprised considering the hammering it received from the critics! I wonder what sort of severance deal and how many dollars are involved  ?

Did you see the review in Magic Magazine? The writer tried to bring out the positive aspects of the show, but overall it was brutal. I'm sure the severance package and dollar amount was enormous. Otherwise they'd be paying for a non-existent show for the next 10 years, which is what I "believe" he was contracted for.

I saw the review in Magic but have you seen this months copy????

Mindfreak meets the Office

No mention of Criss leaving BeLIEve but 'now that it's up and running (read into that what you will :? ) Criss is now turning his attention back to television . He and his manager have created a sitcom based on Angel's life as a struggling young magician.

The series will be produced by NBC and Angel, and is described as a workplace commedy set in the world of magic.

HELP!!!

As the Mighty Boosh's Bollo might say: I've got a bad feeling about this...

Hell, Melinda could replace him and do a better job she at least has two assets that dirty old men have been willing to buy tickets to see for years

And now, in what looks to be a sign of bad times for the show, tickets are already being offered at almost half price! The official Cirque site mentions everyone can enjoy “A Haunting Journey with Criss Angel at 40% Off.” Only 40% off? Maybe if it were free people would be willing to go watch it.

I think it may be Vegas in general. When my wife and I went in June we received discounts on all our Cirque tickets (except maybe O, cannot remember). There were rumours that locals were being given even bigger discounts just to make sure the theatres were not full, just hear say but there's normally an element of truth in such matters...
