If anyone's wondering, that's my car reg.
My car which died :(
Head gasket gone so apparently it's £500+ to fix the damn thing.
The car itself cost me half that much so there's no way I'm paying to have it fixed...

Anyone selling a cheap car? :D

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

looking for a cheep car myself and depending on the make of car changing a head gasket is more of a pain than dificult after all its just a big rubber washer.
that said if you can't borrow a torgue wrench and a manual then it could cost you a bit but not £500. thats mostly labour charge.

Mine is an old style Renault Clio, so the engine is built backwards. And inside out. Basically I'd need to strip out most of the engine to get to the place where it goes... and I'd need my Haynes manual under the car with me...

Yeah, most of that would be labour charge - but I can't do it myself and don't know any mechanics so I'll put the poor thing to rest when she's driven her last.
