FREE PASS TUTORIAL VIDEO by Queen of Clubs

Postby queen of clubs » Jan 11th, '09, 20:19

It's been a long time in coming (mainly because I work 6 days a week) but here's something resembling a tutorial video on the pass.

Not a month goes by without somebody asking for pointers and advice on the pass, so here goes...

Is this appropriate material for the open forum?

Good stuff, thank you.

That second disclaimer was harsh but fair ;)

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

Excellent video - really well explained and demo'd. I'll be spending the rest of the evening practicing this. Many thanks.

The only problem - which this no-sound vid can't really help with - is how to make the pass totally silent. I suppose I could always cough to cover any handling noise!

Can I ask where you learnt to put your little finger all the way through the break like that? I believe it was a Vernon idea, but I'm not totally sure. I learnt to jam your little finger tip all the way into the break, works fine for me. Just goes to show how different techniques can work the same I guess!

Nice tutorial, but I've gotta agree with Lawrence and suggest it might be more appropiate if it was in this section of the forum  .

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

I think it's a well explained/shown tutorial.

On the subject of the "right place". May i draw your attention to this thread - http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic4540.p ... t=top+shot which seemed to be both quite vigorously "explained", yet stayed in the support and tips section too without anyone moaning.

Errr, some of us newbies haven't got access to those areas. How can we learn if none of this kind of thing is available? Anyone who's read Royal Road knows about the pass, but a great video likes this makes all the difference to picking up the subtle points.

As they say on driving school cars "remember that you were a learner once". Thanks!

Delightful pass. Really nicely done.
How can you sit like that, I'd be crippled!

God knows how anyone could see this as exposure, no tricks are exposed, just a move and you need to be pretty dedicated to magic to practice such a move. Exactly the type of person I am sure this video is aimed at.
Any chance the people who are asking for this to be moved are the people with access to the locked sections.

Thanks for this Queen, I've always had a lot of trouble with the pass, your video makes it seem simple.

Awfully decent of you to put a video together and post it on here. I'm sure it will be appreciated by many people. Is there a way of saving it to the hard drive, or is that not allowed?

I think women are just more bendy than men. I can't even bend my fingers back more than a few millimetres before the pain sets in.

If you have the latest version of Real Player Rep, you can mouse over the vid and a little box should appear above it giving you the option to save it.

If not, go to www.keepvid.com and go from there.

Very nicely performed Queen of Clubs and although I can perform it I still picked up on something that made it a tad easier for me to do, so am glad you put it on and I watched it.

As for it to be moved I am in two minds about it. Firstly anyone could come on and see how it's done but what use would it be to them it's merely a tool to use within a magicians arsenal not an eposure of any kind of effect but I can also see reasons for why it could be moved, Anyway I really don't envy the MODS having to make descisions like this everyday.
