pour liquid into a glass

there is an effect where you pour something like milk into a glass, then pour it in a bigger glass and fill it up, then an even bigger glass and fill it up, then an even bigger glass, before filling up a pitcher, and then using that pitcher of milk to fill up all previous glasses

......

where do I get it and what is its name?

;)

cheeeeers

On Davenport's it's called Multum In Parvo Deluxe and on Top Secret Magic it's Diminishing Milk Glasses (Multum In Parvo)... a search on Google will come up with similar stuff. Hopefully this is what you are referring to.

(Whilst I wait for 4oD to realise that I want my darn Derren Brown Fix... Grr...)

That sounds just like what I've been looking for...

Anyone knows whether this can also be performed with other liquids than milk (I'm thinking about beer here...)

Are the liquids drinkable after the the trick has ended or is there some kind of powder-essence-hokuspokus involved?

Cheers,

Magnus

Yes, the stuff can be real.you can perform it with just about any liquid. but you dont end up with a full jug of beer.
It only looks like you do.

however a word of caution. using reall beer, and reall milk will drasticaly shorten the life of this expensive prop, because its not easy to clean. Milk fats attack the plastic, and beer will leave a sticky residue, that will look ugly.
If you are thinking of producing a quantity of beer, why not look at some of the magic kettles that are out there.

you can also get an item called mulimum parvo in reverse. which does the trick the other way around.

Alright... I think I get the concept. I was looking at differnt magic kettles the other day and different ways to perform "Any-Drink-Called-For", but I haven't found my favourite feat yet. I love Steve Cohen's version, but as far as I know, it's not available on the market exactly how he performs it.

Cheers,

Magnus

You can get a version of any drink called for, that uses a milk carton.Jim Stienmyer invented it, and published it in magic magazine a few years back. He also included it in one of his books.
The beauty is, at the end you tear up the carton.
I think that one of the american dealers had it made up, with all the special somethings that you need.
It will be well worth your while tracking down thebook, because even if you dont do teh act as wrote, elements of it can be used in other ways.
Lance Burton performs it on one of his specials. ( Which are available on dvd through amazon) at the end, he rips open the carton, and shows the secret. Its a live mouse that lives in the carton, and makes the drinks.. :)
