HI all.

as I have posted in the intro area I am nbot a practicing magician, I have tried and failed at the performing side and realised I just didnt have that thing. I am however massivl into magic, the techniques e.t.c.

However I dont have anyone to share this passion with, nor to bounce ideas off of as to how a paticular act may have been performed (I am nott looking to be told, more to throw an idea out there and be able to get into a conversation, and from this maybe learn somthing new, or possibly even give someone else a new idea).

So anyway, wasnt sure where to post this. Hae been spending the last 6 weeks on derren browns latest show, went and saw it 4 times, and just watched it on tv for the 3rd time. I think I have figured out most of the tricks he pulled off (no I dont think 20 questions was done using any mentalist abilities, partly because he asked the same leading questions every time mainly because technology makes that trick very easy to pull off now days,), and I am not going to go posting here how I think he did it, I am just looking for a person/peple I can get into a conversation with about the tricks/techniques, Please note, I am not looking to tell the uninformed, or those too lazy to go out and do there own research how tricks are carried out. I am looking for intelligent 2 way conversation with people who have genuine ideas (magnets/string for table turnng, not genuine ideas).

Anyway I am 99.9% sure I know how he did the afformentioned 20 questions, the table levitation, the end prediction and the oracle act itself, and I dont believe any of them involve any kind of psycology/mentalism. I have a system for the 10 pound note, but it seems a bit to convoluted, and I am stumped by the closing trick with the date on the badge (think this might not be a trick per say and more to do with probabilities of adding e.t.c). So if anyone wishes to chat to me about this or anything else (not here in forum though) feel free.

We don't really do that at talkmagic I'm afraid, we have rules about exposure of magical secrets, and whilst I'm not suggesting you're looking for someone to tell you how those effects are done, a conversation like that on a public forum is bad for magic as a whole really.

Might I suggest finding a local magic club? I'm sure other magicians will be happy to discuss your ideas away from the prying eyes of the internet...

If you have a passion for it sir, i might suggest a little more practice. We've all tried and failed at certain effects and felt like prize plums im sure, but you have to get back on it and try again.

I fail to see the pleasure in merely finding out how tricks are done.
