Bruised tatoos

Postby Ed Wood » Jan 18th, '09, 13:56

When these were first released a year or 2 ago I totally fell in love with the effect. The small tatoos on the arm were perfect for a mental magic effect I was performing and I used them all the time for my walkabout at weddings.
I haven't used the effect for about 6 months then had a booking I thought it would be perfect for. Decided to have a practice first and put on a tatoo....and heres the problem.
I found the tatoo once it was in place had a slightly tacky surface even days after putting it in place. Dust and tiny threads from whatever shirt I was wearing would stick to it. The clear areas of the tatoo became dark and eventually it looked like a black blob, nothing like a tatoo. I have tried this a further 3 times and it happens everytime.
Anyone else come across this problem?
Could it be anything to do with the tatoos being old, only about a year old though.
I know I'm adhering them correctly as this problem never used to happen.
Help....please.

Hi Ed;

I don't own this effect, but I am infering from your post that these are fixed to the skin in a similar fashion to the tatoes I used to have when I was a kid.

Purely conjecturing here, but would rubbing them with a little talcum powder remove the stickiness?

PS: if you ruin one because of my poor advice, I'll buy you a beer. You'll have to fly to Prague to collect though :lol:

Cheers

After my last trip to Prague I don't think I'd ever be allowed to return. That was a dark weekend!!
Tried talc a while back, temporarily stops the tackiness but it comes back.
What I can't figure out is why I never used to have this problem
