If your anywhere near Birmingham PM me as you will be able to see many beginners and children's tricks demonstrated.

Failing that there is a mine of useful information on this board, that alone should keep you busy for a while.

Looking mainly to entertain my Grandchildren aged 4 and 7

Hi Clive. What an excellent reason for getting into magic. Hopefully you will find more than a few reviews here that are relevant to the type of magic you wish to perform, and if not just ask. Ther are many here with varying skills and experience.

I remember that as a kid (seems so very long ago now), I had an uncle who did coin vanishes and I could never work out how they were done.

It used to drive me mad. The more he did them the more I couldn't see how he did them. I now do some similar things for my kids and their friends and they seem to be as frustrated as I was so this may help in getting started.

Anyway, welcome and good luck.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
