SWINDLED Monte Patter

Postby nelmar » Dec 10th, '04, 22:03

:? Hi
I recently downloaded SWINDLED (e-book) from http://www.trickshop.com/three_card_monte.html

Price: $7.95 (An almost reasonable £4.26!)

Effect: Three card monte instructions (no gimmick!)

The download was quick and easy and the information is well written and accompanied by good quality photo illustrations.
After several months of fumbling with pocket tricks and 'packet tricks' I have made an early new years resolution to make a serious attempt at improving my sleights!
This is mainly due to the crys of, 'yeah great, now let us see the card!' from onlookers.
Anyhow, I have been pleasently surprised at how easy the 'necessary moves' are for an efficient Monte. But...
What about presentation patter? It seems that the patter to this trick is the ultimate key to it's success. Does anyone know of any resources to elegant or exciting 'scripts' for the monte. I tried writing one my self on the romany gypsy type feel and my missus just laughed and said something like schazam! Trick ruined I have skulked to my PC to see if any of you lot have any bright ones?
Also, Bloody elmsley count !! just how long do you have to practice it before it gives in and lets you do it!!!!
Thats It, 1st real post hope it isnt too long winded....................

Hi guy, I first learned the elmsley with something fairly easy like "circulation". It took about a month to be able to do it. but it still didn't look good to me. In fact, it never got to look good to me. but it seemed to look passably good to others once I stopped tryin to make it so obvious that I was counting-the-cards and only had "so many". I've learned: anything I don't want the spectators to notice I don't shine a spotlight on it. Keep practicing :) and don't give up!
