i used to live next door to milner's magic shop in stourbridge - The House of Magic, and even worked there on odd occasions

does talkmagic have a review of all of the country's magic shops?

perhaps we could vote on which is the best

We get posts about the various shops from time to time but not a formal Review section for them as such. As bricks and mortar shops are disappearing (JB Magic and E-Magic Tricks in recent months) on-line suppliers are in the majority so quality of service and price levels are perhaps the main aspects of consideration. Not sure how we'd decide which is 'best' as all the ones we've experienced, including those who do and don't advertise on TM, have given excellent service. By the way, there's a list of shops over on the Ipswich Magical Society website if anyone's trying to find a local outlet.

buying stuff off the web is so unmagical

We're very intreested in them but they cost a lot to run and in the current economic climate, proper shops are something of a luxury. Places like cards4magic, Alakazam, Merlins, WorkMagicShop all have bricks and mortar shops so perhaps the leson here is to support them with visits and purchases to make sure they keep going in that manner?

That's what I try to do to cards4magic and Alkazam... Fortunately they're both on my door step (not literally or I'd have no money). On some things they're a little bit more expensive, but if I don't go there what'll happen to them?

pharmacists had same problem nhs - using products to pay for themselves and your time and overheads

for example, i wouldnt buy a cornelius thought transmitter from reviews here

but seeing it live intrigued me, esp when it was put back on shelf, out of my reach

subsequently, i bought the item, and spent several sessions in shop being advised on totally unique routine

it kills!!!!!!!!!

so, with a shop yopu are buying advice not just products

it can't be replaced

u can judge a good shop - they tell you not to buy certain proeducts
