MacMillan Cancer Care

Hey All,

A few friends and I have decided to raise some money for charity, namely MacMillan Cancer Care.

The Musicians are gathering their musical friends, and putting on a concert.
The Bakers are getting their friends who can make cakes and buns to sell.
The Sporty people are getting people to join in a sponsored 24 hour swimathon.

I can't play an instrument, bake a cake, or swim for that long, so!

I've had a word with York City Council and the York Press, about having a day of magic in the middle of town. They are up for it. It will be well publicised and the buskers licence rule is being dropped for the day, for anyone who is doing magic.

It will be in the papers, and possibly on the radio and TV too if I can manage it, so we hope to pull a few members of Joe Public into town to support it.

What I'm after are a few charitable street performers, close-up/street magicians, jugglers, anyone that can perform for money.

From what you make, you can take out the cost of your travel, and the rest goes to charity, and what is, in my opinion, a good cause.

A few hours out of your life to help families of people suffering with cancer. That must be worth it surely.

There is no date set yet. This post is just to get a quick show of hands to see who might be interested? We want as many people involved in this as possible. At the moment, we have about 3 people who are a maybe. I will be there, so we have at least 1. Not exactly worth stopping the press for.

Anyone who can spare a couple of hours, there will be a drink or two for helping out.

Its a nice chance to help a worthy cause and meet a few like minded people in the process.

Anyone interested? This thing can only go ahead with support of people like you! It will almost definately be a saturday or a sunday.

Thanks!

All the best,
Tom "crozboz" Crosbie

Lt me know the date and if I have nothing on then I'll be willing to come along. I already do some work for McMillan who are my preferred charity.
