Hello everyone from not so sunny Bristol

Hi there fellow magicians,

I could have sworn I joined here a little while back, ah well never mind :?

I'm 24 and have been into magic since the age of 5 where I saw a magician performing at a friends birthday party, can still remember the day clearly 8)

At the age of 19 I opened Swindon's very first magic shop called "Tricky Business" (anyone remember the t.v. proggy??), unfortunately it didn't last very long, I was young (and still am) pretty neive and never been in business before. So after a few months the shop was no more

On the plus side tho I did learn alot from it, so the experience I gained and the smile on customers faces as they left the shop made it all well worth the bash

My prefered area of magic is close-up, I like the gimmicky stuff i.e. tricks with props, I'm also interested in packet tricks 8) Had big illusions and what not before but couldn't get on with it, so I prefer to baffle and amaze peeps from right under their noses.

Peeps often say I'm from the David Blaine earor, am I heck, sad to admit it but I'm from the Paul Daniels time, loved watching that on a sat night.

So from here in Bristol

Have a very merry xmas

Steve (24-kinda between SH and WP  )

why not consider an online shop with your experience and some help you could make oodles and make some great demos of tricks as well.

Hi Steve,

welcome to Talk Magic,

thanks for the intro, always nice to get a bit of background info.Nice to see a magician that isn't afraid to admit to liking and using gimmicks.

Hope you enjoy it here and will look forward to reading your posts :)

Awww thanks for all your kind welcomes :D

Yeah I did think of it, even went as far as to trying to get funding from the Prince's Trust but unfortunately I could only gain halve the funding I required :o I'm not dissapointed tho

I'm a firm believer in that I would like to spread magic and happiness throughout the world, never went into the business to make oodles of money, just need to tick by.

I look forward to posting many a replies in this forum.

Merry xmas to all of ya

Steve
