Leamington Spa also has a railway station.
It is about 2 miles from the place it is being held.

I was hoping someone else would reply to this, so I wouldn't have to double post.

I thought this 'day out' was great. There was some very good lectures and some enjoyable workshops. Everybody was having a laugh and fun, so there was always a good atmosphere.

Even though I promised i'd never buy anything, considering I had to make a detour to the post office first thing to pick up a mirage wallet I ordered, and had already bought deep astonishment 2. I still managed to walk away with an empty wallet and a full bag.

My last comment must be about David Penn ... Isn't he the guy that goes around cutting peoples hair in the street?

It was a very good day and I think next years may also be in the week given the feedback already.

This was arranged very much last minute, so with a bit more planning we are hoping to make the event even better for next year.

Adding more for the childrens entertainer has been our main request.

It was great to see so many well know working pros at one event, and it was great to chat and meet people.

I made it there during the mid afternoon and a marvelous afternoon it was too.

It was nice to see so many familiar and friendly faces that had travelled to Leamington and I was too busy chatting in the bar to see any of the lectures.

Next year I'll make sure that I take the day off work.

If nothing else it bumps the thread and prompts interest in the 2009 event! If anyone has details and would like to post them, we're ready and waiting :D !

Your wish is my command!!!!

I have also started a new thread for this year, this is the info for this year but please use the new thread.

After the success of last years event we are again going to hold the event midweek.

Three lectures have been booked so far Jon Allen England's only World IBM close-up magic champion, a Gold Star Member of the Inner Magic Circle, and John Archer current Magic Circle stage champion and now Kimmo current World Children's Entertianer.

We will be going on longer this year into the evening with a cash prize Midland Champion of Champions close-up comp' with winners from Midlands clubs taking part.

Ali Bongo has agreed to be a judge I hope he's better soon and can make it.

The food last year was very good, and we hope to provide breakfast and lunch, plus you get free parking, workshops and dealers.

How much would you pay for this?????

Well the ticket price is of £20.

So thats all the news for now, if you want to reserve a ticket (you don't have to pay now) prior to the tickets going on sale to make sure you don't miss out as the numbers are limited to 150, there were over 100 last year so we expect to sell out in 2009.

The link for details still has last years event on, it will be updated in the near future. www.dayofmagic.co.uk

You can contact me on 07882 825748 (between 9am & 7pm).

Can I suggest that this thread is locked to save any confusion between the two threads with very similar titles?
