Well, January didn't go too well, not after the holiday season ended, anyway...

The first week I was back at work, I was repairing and cleaning a printer, and blew a blast of compressed air and paper dust into my eyes. Couldn't do intensive reading (i.e. work) for a couple of days.

Then both Colin and I had the flu, which occupied us for the rest of the month. Two weeks of full-blown flat-on-your-back illness, and another week of heavy cold and general exhaustion.

So I'm just about over the flu now, and celebrating seeing the back of an unpleasant month. ALMOST getting caught up with work. And now I seem to be developing a kidney infection.

So I'm totally fed up and in need of some cheering.

A great big furry cyber hug is on the way to you. I find January to be the most depressing month, no particular reason, it just is. Dark mornings, dark nights, usually awful weather etc - I often feel I should climb into a cardboard box of sweet smelling straw under the wardrobe and hibernate until April at the earliest!

I would give you a hug, but after you've described all those illnesses I'm not sure I want to come anywhere near you.

Only kidding - hope February works out better for you!

I feel your pain as my January and beginning of Feb has also been craptacular - but the year can only get better mate!

Awww, thanks. I'm on antibiotics and back on speaking terms with my waterworks again.

Had a similar infection last year, and the antibiotics I took then gave me the side effect of constant drowsiness combined with severe insomnia. Simultaneously. Now, that was an interesting week. The current tablets don't have nearly the same entertainment value.

awww sounds horrible, Robbie. Glad that things are a little better now.

Sort of better. Colin got really ill on Friday and was afraid he had norovirus (which hospitalised him a couple of years ago). We ended up spending the evening in A&E, before he was sent home with a diagnosis of either food poisoning or a general tummy bug.

My vote is for tummy bug, because he perked up the next day but I was sick all weekend.

Then yesterday I twisted my ankle.

I've noticed that it's all progressing downwards. So it must have reached a stopping point now; there's not much left after ankle.

Col goes into hospital next week to have a bothersome toenail removed (at last). That will have to be the final chapter.
