Japanese Street magician -- Burger magic

Postby TerryC » Feb 23rd, '09, 00:53

Remember when Card thru Glass was first shown, it was a miracle. Then every kid and his kid brother worked out a method, and posted it on YouTube. They ranged in quality from awful to d**n awful!

Well, I still like to browse magic on YouTube, and I came across this demonstration (on MetaCafe) by a young Japanese Street magician that is miraculous, entertaining and a credit to his skill and creativity.

Firstly, he takes the card thru glass trick, and changes it to a hamburger thru glass, then he....well, the video explains it far better than I can. The few words in it are in Japanese, but are not essential to your understanding of what's happening.

This is why no exposure will ever end the magic trade. You can use a methods everyone knows about but present it in such a way that will leave most laymen stumped.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

I seem to recall that his salt shaker through table effect was also suitably impressive (assuming there was no camera trickery editing shenanigans going on, of course).
