I've been hit with a few giant bills which have meant I have had to cancel the holiday I've been planning since November.
Lost a bunch of money in the process and then yesterday some drugged riddled chav scumbag broke my car window to find nothing to nick. More expense!

Sorry to hear that Greedo... it's times like these you can really only console yourself with one thought, as my housemate would say: "he'll probably get AIDS".

I'm feeling pretty rough this morning after a really bad night... I've been wiped out for the last couple of days by some virus-type thing. Fair enough, these things happen, and I began to feel better yesterday afternoon and thought that when the sore throat cleared I'd be back on top.

After spending half the night shivering with a fan heater right by the bed trying to get warm, and then the old "barbed wire throat", it appears I'm not as over it as I thought :( I don't know whether it was just because I'd let the paracetamol lapse or what, but I was starting to worry I had mumps or something - really painful ears, big swollen neck, and couldn't swallow without wincing with pain. I was considering driving down to A&E to get some of that lidocaine spray stuff but thought they'd not be best pleased at pitching up with a sore throat... still...

It made me curse the fact that we don't live in America, I'd have given my left b*ll*ck for a 24hr pharmacy!

Worked all night, car on way home this morning, not right..... Now has massive leak from something ... waiting for recovery .... I want to go to sleep..... and more expense for car .....

I'm not majorly green and slimey about this because I've still got an amazing pick-up in my guitar, but still: I'll just add another gripe to the hatred directed at ParcelForce and HMRC.

I received a package that was valued at $30, and cost $32.50 to ship from the US. Which means I then have to pay VAT - fair enough, I understand that - but VAT on the delivery?! Apparently so, but I just think it's ridiculous. Fair enough, the value of the goods needs to be taxed, but if I've paid the actual cost of getting it across the atlantic, why do HMRC then sink their grubby claws into it for an extra few quid... :x

So I ended up paying VAT on $62.50, and of course, we couldn't forget the ****ing Parcelforce fee of £13.50.

The result? Value of contents: £20. Cost of postage: just a little over £20. VAT and Parcelforce fee: £20. That is just crazy...

Well, it may well, but frankly I'd be happy if any element of competition is created so that the smug and sluggish monopoly that is parcelfarce get a serious kick in the rear end. At the moment, little would please me more than to see this company sink into oblivion
