Description : This book contains mainly card effects, and does include some mentalism effects.

One of the main reason I bought this book was for No Rough Monkey, a version of Bill Goldman's Monkey in the Middle.

None of the tricks in this book require a gimmick. All you need is a standard deck.

A full list and descriptions of all the effects are available on Ian Rowland's site.

I was very impressed when the book came (nice hardback) and I think that many levels of magician will get at least a few uses out of the book. It's main pro being that it puts a new spin on some of the older routines and slights. If you are a complete beginner, give this one a miss because it assumes that you have some basic knowledge (such as the elmsley count).

I myself am not a great magician and am just getting back into magic after a couple of years of laziness! And for me, this book was great as a refresher.

Hope this helps. If anyone else has this book I'd be interested to hear what they have to say about it.

Rgds,

Jamie
