Hello From Vancouver

Postby RobMagus » Mar 5th, '09, 20:16

Hi everyone.

I'm a lab assistant at UBC, in Vancouver, Canada. After a year-long break from magic (which I've been practicing as a hobby since I was wee), I'm attempting to get back into it with the intention of actually performing in an entertaining manner. I hope to find good advice in this forum.

See you on the threads!

And Howdy, Moodini! Amusingly, I was born in Alberta.

I spent a good portion of my life in Whistler :D
I now own a residence in Victoria! I occasionally visit Canada when I can make it over the Atlantic

You been back to that area recently? The west side of calgary has absolutely exploded...my brother lives in Cochrane and it is slowly becoming almost a part of calgary on the one end. Beautiful area(s) both the foothills and Vancouver.

I was at UBC once...for a seminar about 15 years ago. Come to think of it, I don't think it was actualy at UBC...is there a golf course near by called the University club or Thunderbird or something like that? I think I just always assumed it was part of the UBC Campus.

seer, I spent a good deal of time in Whistler also, back when I had time to ski :j

moodini, unfortunately I haven't had much cause to visit calgary, as most of the family I had there has either moved to BC or died! I would like to go back some time and see how it's changed, though.

UBC does have a golf course, which pretty much is on-campus. I think there is a club there called the University Club, but I'm not sure. I -do- know that the Thunderbirds are UBC's sports teams!
