Anyone played about with Python programming?

What are your thoughts and experiences?

Sorry I'm not sure what you meant here.

Do you mean geek as in nerd, as in Monty Python programing. And if so, played about how?

Or do you mean geek as in eat anything, as in eat a python?

LOL... today I have been mostly programming pythons... but they don't seem to respond!!

Just kidding, it's a programming language that's supposed to be all singing and all dancing and it's OSI too meaning it's free to all developers including commercial usage!!

No, computer geekery is the one aspect I fail at.

Geek as in what?

A nerd, in the modern sense, is a socially inept individual. Geeks (also in the modern sense) are intelligent and tech-savvy. They build and understand the modern world. Geekness comes before even sexuality in defining a person.

I'm proud to be a geek!

Did I say anything bad about geeks or nerds? Both are just names given to intelligent and quiet people.

Nerd is an insult really, geek is seen as a compliment nowadays :)

Forget it nerds - there's no way you get to define your own social niche. "I'm not a nerd, I'm a geek, and geek's are cool now." Whatever

As the Great Grand Pooh-Bah of geeks, I was happy a few years ago when my boss on a project said 'the best thing about this job is, before I met you I though I was a nerd...'

Geek is used as as insult by people who could never be a geek, no matter how hard they tried.

Take care, Ian
