Great site! I'm glad to join.

I've been fairly nimble with cards for years, having spent embarrassingly many hours at home poker games over the past decade, but I only recently thought to become a student of card magic. What fun! I went through a couple rather disappointing beginners' books, but I soon found my way to RRTCM. I've worked all the way through it (twice), taking extensive notes and returning to particular sections as needed. Lately I've been focussing on routine planning, distractions, banter... while continuing to tune my sleights and handlings. I've had good results with small familiar audiences so far, and I'm now venturing into performing for random strangers.

Anyway, that's my intro. I look forward to participating in the forum.

Pasadena's about 50 miles north of Newport Beach, with most of the great expanse that is Los Angeles County in between. I'm guessing you've spent some time there, then?
