MagicWhoosh Checking in...

Postby MagicWhoosh » Jan 19th, '09, 20:09

Hey all,

I'm a hobbyist magician, been doing magic the past several months checking in to the forums.

Wondered if I could pester you all for a bit of advice on my first post, I'm considering trying out some mentalism tricks, and two have caught my eye.

Bendable Pen - John Cornelius

Odd Ball - Marc Oberon

I'm probably also going to get a Haunted Deck, and reckon I'm going to try and get some routine going, but I wanted to ask your advice on Oddball and Bendable Pen, mainly....can the pen be examined etc.

Thanks for all your help in advance, looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hiya and welcome to TM.

Oddball is a nice effect, I use it all the time in a couple of my routines. :D

Hi and welcome to TM  .

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

bendable pen, isnt really a mentalist effect, though i guess with the right routining it could be.
the pen doesnt bend, like in a spoon, or nail bend. It goes wobbly and soft, for a bit, then returns to it's rigid state.

I love it.

but the routine ive come up for it, took about 18 months to get right, and in no way, shape or form, is it like the routine you get with it.

In my mind, mine, ( and the few ive shared it with) is much better.
briefly its this....

The bendable pen, becomes a "stealth brethalizer" , which police are using to catch out people who refuse to blow into the bag.

all you do is wave it around as the punter talks, and if they have had too much of the old wibbly wobbly water... the pen reacts.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....
