Favourite Purchase so far in 09

Postby Chris Tennant » Mar 18th, '09, 15:49

Ok we are a quarter of the way through 09, Blackpool has been and gone and I was thinking to myself what has been my best purchase that I have made so far this year and why. We are doing this at a Riviera meeting and I thought it would be fun to see other peoples opinions. This does not have to be a trick, it can be a book that you have bought or a DVD or even something to enhance your performance, so I guess the real question is, What has been the best contribution to your magic so far this year?

For me it has to be Get Nyman as it is a fantastic DVD with loads of useful ideas coming from a great mind (also the mid behind Derren Brown for anyone unfamiliar), 3 disks of joy.

So what is everyone elses?

I think this thread would have been better placed in the last quarter of the year, rather than in March. Anyway, I've not bought that much so far this year, but Rick Maue's The Book of Haunted Magick is very good indeed; strictly speaking, though, it was bought to replace my old copy, which the missus threw out by mistake (don't ask!). I hate to use an old cliché, but the utility moves and essays are probably worth the price of the book. Excellent stuff.

Seventy-seven days in and you've not made a magic purchase yet?! Hat's off to you, Lommy. Impressive, indeed.

I'm still trying to figure out the date thing..... 30 days hath September, April, June and no wonder, all the rest have kippers for breakfast....no that can't be right. Merry Christmas just in case. :?

No haven't acquired much at all so far, just the books and e-books reviewed recently which will keep me occupied for some time, and the tickets for the TM Night of Magic on April 15th at Middleton Hall.
