Kippers.

No, but seriously... I haven't really bought any magic this year (other than the JOL wallet) and intend to keep it that way for a while. Though I am looking forward to playing around with IT and the Fearson hook-up, as inspired by the expensive and unnecessary tarantula gimmick... so it could be that the tarantula is the best contribution to my magic, even though I don't have it :D

Ok so I should not have said half way through, it just feels like a long time to me as so much has happened recently. Sorry for any confusion and I will amend it to a quarter of the year.

Also I did not expect this thread to be picked up on so quickly.

I know the feeling - it seems to be about six months since New Year! Only yesterday I was reading about a few matters to do with our local Christmas fair and that's not until the end of November. All very confusing... :?

The Complete Jarrett - fantastic book! In fact, I might head over to the reviews section...

Ettiene Pradier's double dvd. The man talks sense, even if it's in a French accent.

For me it's two books, Paul Brook's Alchemical Tools and Geoffrey Durham's Professional secrets. I was looking forward to learning a method for the Gypsy thread in the latter, and now find myself thinking - who am I? Who do I want to be? :lol: Pain in the butt really.

Mix Geoff's Gypsy thread set up with Eugene Berger's presentation and it's very effective!

Hi Mandrake;

Yes, exactly! I'm glad you said that. I was looking to learn the effect based on his presentation, and bought Professional secrets based on the review you wrote a while back :D

I am thinking of a slightly more "down to earth" version of the gypsy thread than Hindu Gods and the universe though.

For me the thread symbolises life rather than the universe, and the cuts, the various breaks, changes, accidents, turns and stages in life. Still in the end, if we accept change, are open and live purposefuly, we keep our integrity / remain whole.

Or something like that anyway :lol: :lol:

Very nice! I'm using the idea of happiness in life having a beginning, a middle and, after a very long time of course, an end. Along the way there are times where we face disappointment, heartache and sorrow which can all break that journey but wouldn't it be good if we could just take those broken dreams, somehow weave them back together and.........and you know the rest :wink: !

I couldn't find a miniature candlestick like Eugene uses so one of the guys in our machine shop made one in solid brass for me. Must remember I still owe him a pint!
