Introducing myself (again)

Postby AJ82 » Mar 24th, '09, 08:17

Hi my name is Alex and I have been a member hear for quite a while but have not posted for well over a year and feel I should explain myself and introduce myself again.

I have always had an interest in magic and a couple of years ago I was really in to it all doing hours of reading and practicing a day.

My main interest was card magic.

My life kind of took a turn for the worst and I found it quite hard to deal with everything that was going on.

2 major things happened. When I was a kid I broke my back and as a result have a build up of scar tissue on my spine which causes numbness and tingling in my legs. 90% of the time I am fine, I live with it but 2 years ago it got to the stage where walking a fair distance caused a lot of pain and I had to give in to using a wheelchair from time to time. It caused me to really dislike myself for a while.

And on top of this I got run over and banged my head quite hard. As a result of this I developed Epilepsy.

So for the last 2 years I have sort of hidden myself from the world.

But I moved house a few months ago to a really nice house in a nice area (close to the beach) and recently have been trying to put my life back together.

And today I decided its time to unpack the box thats been sealed since we moved with all my books, DVDs, cards and so on in. I also thought I would be brave and come back on the forum in the hope I am still welcome.

So thats me! I am sorry I sort of vanished before and hope I can come back and join in the talks on hear again.

Hi Alex, so very good to hear from you again! Things haven't changed much here, we're still suffering from C.U.P.S.!

I dove back into magic myself. I had been laid up with an old knee injury. And I totally understand where you are coming from. Through all of that look what you came back too, Magic! It truly becomes a part of your life doesn't it? It has saved me more then I few times, the community and the excitement it brings others is healing. Now it has become my living and has definately saved me in this economy. And not without the goodwill and support from my new and veteran magic friends.

Great to have you on board my friend.

I look forward to getting to know you all better myself... :D

Thanks for the kind replies, I am not overly up to date with whats going on in the magic world right now so I will ease myself back in bit by bit if thats ok with everyone.

Hi Bud

We all suffer in our own ways, some more than others.

Kind regards
