Can I ask for a couple of tips re roughing spray. Have read the rest of this topic & get the idea of how to do the spray. I am creating my own X Deck as soon as the fluid arrives but.

Do I spray the front (face up) of the card that is hidden or the back of the card (face down) that is hiding the other card?
IE QH is in front. JH is behind being hidden. Which part of which card do I spray?

Do I spray all of the card from top to bottom or just the top & bottom, or just the middle.

What's an ideal drying time, 6, 12, 18, 24 hours. Keep the cards next to a radiator?

Can't help with the X deck format but I've used roughening spray and I usually leave a room temperature for at least 2 hours and haven't had any problems to date. I don't put in front of a heater just in case they start to curl

OK another roughing fluid question

Is it possible to de-rough a card. I've heard from other posts that it decreases with times but anyway to speed up the process on a few cards that I've slightly over roughed

I've used a variety of matt varnish sprays which you can get from any art shop. I actually get mine from the art art dept. of webberlys book shop. THey have always worked faultlessly.
I use them in a way described in this link, spraying the face to be hidden AND the back to be hidden. I usually leave mine to dry overnight or about 6 hours, just to be on the safe side.
With the varnish, and a little inspiration, you can create wonders.

Is it possible to de-rough a card.

I can't say I've heard of any way of doing this but I'd guess a combination of use and smoothing powder (or talc!) would make them move a bit easier. RF wears off after a while anyway but how quickly would depend on the usage and how much you (over) applied!

Gently rub two cards together in a light circular motion. I did that to a deck which was a bit too rough for my liking and now it works fine.
