Have a look at http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic229.ph ... ight=raven - there are lots of opinions and discussions to help you make your own decision. The additional instructional video/DVD is a great item to have and I'd say almost essential if you have a Raven as it shows very clearly all the moves etc but much clearer than in the written instructions. The Raven and the Vid/DVD will cost a fair amount so you need to be sure you want to do vanishes etc of coins and similar objects and you'll probably need to spend more on appropriate props and items to go with it.

A google search ought to give you any number of sources to try for best deal - Penguin Magic are the usual US source for magcal items but there are hundreds more to check out. Hope that helps!

RAVEN

I have the RAVEN for sale, it is easy to use, and comes with instructions, I also have the RAVEN DVD for sale, which shows many tricks that can be done with it. If you are interested, email me. The whole lot will be at a bargain price. I also have a magnetic pound coin that can be used with the Raven.

I got a Raven for Xmas and I'd strongly recommend buying the DVD if you can afford it. Not that I have the DVD myself, but I wish I had as the printed instructions that accompany the Raven are rather limited in my opinion.

A good utility but could be better.

the raven dvd shows a great shirt setup and the empty hand move as well as tips for transfers and changes.
its well worth the money and will show you were the instructions can't.

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me jumping into this thread. I was thinking about buying the Raven too and from the demos I've seen - it looks stunning! The adverts say that it can be done with sleeves rolled up, however, the only demo I've seen with sleeves rolled, the magician was wearing a watch. Can anyone tell me if the trick can be performed with sleeves rolled up and no watch?

Thanks if anyone can help,

Matt.

absolutely the watch is not needed but can be used for a reveal.
with the hookup on the dvd you can do it with bear arms or even rip the arms out of your shirt and paint your arms bright blue and add sequins it will not effect the use of the raven one bit.
