Don't Miss A Trick

Postby Tomo » Mar 27th, '09, 11:09

From the Radio Times:

Don't Miss a Trick

Friday 27 March
8:30pm - 9:00pm
BBC1 North West
"One-off family special hosted by Kate Thornton. Shot entirely on location, magicians Jessica Clement, Paul Wilson and Alex Conran from BBC THREE's the Real Hustle perform for the public. Is it possible to guess how it's done before the tricksters reveal their secrets? Meanwhile, freaky magician Pete Firman shares his shocking, stomach-churning tricks."

Oh, deep joy

I think it's a bit of a stretch to describe Jessica Jane Clement as a "magician". She's a squeaky, whiny ex glamour model turned presenter.

And yes, I'm jealous.

R Paul Wilson, on the other hand, is an innovative, creative genius, and Alexis Conran is a very polished magician.

I love The Real Hustle - it's somewhat fluff, but it's entertainment!

They weren't exactly truthful about the Tardis illusion...

No, the BS about the lining up of the photograph that drops into view was highly laughable whether or not the viewer knows anything about focal length. (That was possibly the geekiest sentence I have ever typed).

That could be taken two ways, one of them being your impotent! I prefer the extending wand illusion.

It wasn't that bad. Could have been much much worse!!!

If anyone mentions sponge balls at this point I may be forced to dish out a slap. It's for your own good, it really is!

There's some jibe in there somewhere about comparative bust sizes of Miss Clement and R. Paul Wilson... a jibe I'm far too mature to make...

What I didn't know was that she went to High Storrs school in Sheffield. Nice to know that my homeland has provided countless flustered schoolboys with so much satisfaction
