If I didn't have a booking this evening I'd be sorely tempted to go again.

What a great evening! Met Owen from BBM and lots of cool guys from the HCMS. Greg was on top form and lectured for well over two hours. Everything from simple misdirection routines to super-difficult card miracles. Hugely inspiring and very entertaining. Top stuff!

he was still working at the bar at ten past two!
I'm working on adrenaline at the moment, because i only had 3 hours sleep!!!

Greg's lecture was without a shadow of doubt the best lecture i have seen at the club.....ever!

those that made the pub afterwards, ( and there was a few ) shared with Greg their 1000 timer. that being the trick that they always perform, and have performed thousands of times.

and then Greg, and the rest of us, picked the routines to pieces.

a truly inspiring jamming session.

If you ever get the oportunity to spend time with Greg.... do.

There were about 60 people there and I've no idea which one was you - I might have been sitting next to you for all I knew! I only recognised Owen from seeing him on BBM DVDs. I chatted to a few of the guys, it's definitely a very friendly society and I'd recommend that anyone interested gives it a try. I was thinking about the Zodiacs but that's a 2 hour round trip, so HCMS, which is just three miles up the road for me, is brilliant and convenient!

I'll try to track you down at the Steve Beam lecture in May. Wear a red carnation and carry a copy of the Daily Telegraph so I can spot you!

EDIT - Just seen a link to your website which helped me ID you. You were front and centre and helped out with some of the last card tricks. I'll definitely come and say hello next time. Cheers!

better yet, just look out for the guy in black who was sitting in the front row, and got up to catch the card that greg was firing out across the table. :)

ive posted a review of the evening on the home counteis forum...
but bearing in mind the last lines, i found an on line yoda translator.

The extreme pleasure of spending some time with the one and only greg wilson, last night I had...

And I thought, share my review of the evening, would I...........

Go and see greg wilson lecture, to start to list the reasons why one should, is nigh on impossible.
To be one of the most informative, his lecture at the home counties last night has, educational, and seen in many, enjoyable lecture I have, many years, probably ever.
Of the evenings planned event the first half, his dvds covered material from, off the cuff, on the spot, pyrotechnical pasteboards, and card stunts.
His super bill changing effect “foreign exchange” he also demonstrated, and his classic impromptu routine re-capped an effect that matches, in which a pen turns around, under increasingly more, and more impossible conditions.
Of tea after an excellent and much needed cup, of the planned event in the second part...( those words again) greg shared some fantastic stuff that you can do impromptu in your favourite coffee house, there is, or burger bar.
Particular favourite, and one that extracted a genuine layman's reaction, was a two cup, sugar monte'.
Fiendishly simple, the method was, sublime, the effect was. As all his coffee house effects, indeed were.
More cards, coins and tips followed... (or not, of his vanishing sugar in the case. No tip required).

And to an end the planned event came.

And the unplanned events, which of the attendees missed most, began.
As is usual, of us sorcerers made our way across the road a healthy band, to the local pub for a wind down pint, and chat about what we had just seen.( around 10.30), this was.
After a while, greg joins us. And the real learning begins, with mammoth jamming session.
His lecture greg had mentioned the 1000 time tricks in, those being magic that we do, over again over and, for the lays.
Here in the pub, to show him something he asked us. As our “1000 timer trick” something that we think of.
And over the next 4+ hours, what people did, this is.
Money could buy experiences like this not, and have to pay a small fortune if you wanted to go to a master class or “one on one” training, you would, as much knowledge as greg from a man with... And here we were, for free getting it.
Great shame that I had to come into the day job this morning, is it, because still be there, I am sure that I would, listening, and with greg sharing thoughts and ideas, and of the group the rest, this most perfect impromptu in, of minds informal meetings.
Those that missed out on this, with lecture notes left, and dvds... Those that attended, with memories left, and inspiration, that will, sure, am I, for the rest of their performance lives stay with them.
To come in years, this night one that people will say will be the... “yes well, there the night greg came”, you know I was.

In addition, and I swear its true, to the boys greg turned, to me and said pointed...

"To have this man in your club, you know I hope you boys apreciate how lucky you are.
He doesnt say much, but worth listening to, what he does say is, because its all great thinking. You know, like an english yoda, he is."

Being quiet, I was.. Very tired, I was. And of carrying around my now expanded head the burden, didnt help!

:) . Herh herh herh.
