Hello fellow magicians

I am dom from kent, and 18. I started doing card magic a few months (5 or so) ago, after meeting with some spanish friends of mine..one of who is amazingly good. after this i researched the subject a little and found comes names, Lennart Green, Tamariz, DaOrtiz, Giobbi, Vernon, to name a few.

I feel as though i am progressing very quickly (i have developed enough to move away from gaff decks, to achieve similar results), and have leanrt a significant proportion of the slieghts in RRTCM (the slieghts i feel suit my style, as some of the tricks in the book dont feel right to me) and am looking forward to progressing, preferably to something with a stack/memorized deck. I have looked at DaOrtiz's 'baraja personal' and Tamariz' Mnemonica (my two favorite magicians), but i am not sure if this step up will be too much, but at the moment i have kind of plateued and looking to push myself.

I would like to use this forum to find help and advice, as well as try to help others along the way in this great world of magic.

Thanks (sorry for the essay! )

Dom

dont move all the way from gaffs, because Tamariz for one, does use them from time to time.
and remember, that a stacked deck, is ony a gaffed deck, with no visible gaffs. :)

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

i will always keep a gaff just in case, but not as the main part of my tricks (i always used to use svengali -without reveling them as all aces-...impressive but didnt feel right)

and yeh, wise words...never thought of it like that!

Hello Dom

There seems to be more and more people in Kent all the time: whether by choice or circumstances - like redundancy :(

However, on the bright side it's easy to get to London, France, Card Collection, Alakazam and The Downtown Magic Club in Ashford (third monday of each month: come along).

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
