Errr...hello

Hello wise and much more experienced people of TalkMagic

Since I have absolutley no knowledge of internet forums, I have posted things before here, but to avoid the wrath of the Almighty Mandrake I have hastened to this place to begg forgivness!

Well, if your interested...

I've had a vauge interest in magic for several years, but I took a strong interest in it a couple of years ago and hence joined the Northern Magic Circle Junior section on the 12th January 2008...and I'm loving it.

I started out learning card magic and that's remained my forte to this day, with MST (Matthew J. Dowden) and repeat effect routines like his card to mouth routine being my absolute favourites, along with classics like Anniversarry Waltz being staples in my routine.

Despite this, I've recently begun getting heavily into coin magic (Yes I have got Bobo :!: :D ), with a slightly expanded version of Greg Wilson's 3/4 Across and the dreaded Muscle Pass being my current routines to practice to no end ("You must practice and practice again 'till sore/ only then you are ready to practice some more")!

I also have a basic sponge routine which I'm looking to expand at some point.

My mentalism tricks take the form of Tyler Wilson's Stick it to The Man!

I've done a bit of "proper" performences at small social events, but these are (and bookings in general) few and far between and unpaid. It's probably because no-one wants a teenage magician! But still its all good experience! :P

I am a self confessed "move-monkey" but I try not to neglect the other half of magic: performence and presentation. I'm saving up for Maximum Entertainment, which shall enlighten me :D

If anyone has any advice to share, I would be extremeley grateful :)

Oh and I've also stated to get into novels about magicians, I've read The Prestige by Christopher Priest and Cartere Beats the Devil by Glen David Gold...both of which are fantastic!

Many thanks!
Elliott

p.s. please don't punish me oh Might Mandrake
