Top 5 coin sleights

Postby Liam number ? » Apr 26th, '09, 04:34

I thought this would be a bit of fun, so everyone put down your favourite coin sleights. no1 dosent have to be your favourite.
Mine are:
1.Vanishes
2.Shuttle or flying shuttle
3.Spellbound
4. Jay sankey movement change( I think thats what its called)
5. Coin roll

Im not too good at coin magic as of now.

I don't get how people like spellbound so much…

The best coin sleight? The sleight that gets things done. You're not gonna want to use the Downs palm on a close-up setting, and the c****** palm is great if you want to use other objects with the same hand

Oh, and pulling a coin from someone's ear. F***ing brilliant!

Spellbound

Well, its good on angles, highly visual, easy and leaves you in position for a ramsay subtlety. What more can you wan't! Oh and you can use it with other items like guitar picks! Were you joking about the coin from the ear, people always think I do that kind of stuff or thats what magicians SHOULD do.

eh? almost every coin sleight if used correctly, put's you in the perfect position to perform a ramsay subtlety.

so to answer your question, "favourite coin sleights ".

In no particular order,
downs
classic
finger and

ramsay subtlety for normal coins.

and tenkai for jumbos. :)

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

Kolm is absolutely right about Spellbound; to most people, it's obvious.

But Kolm also writes, in part: ". . .pulling a coin from someone's ear. F***ing brilliant!"

Well, actually it isn't. For the longest time, I would have agreed, since I open every show with the Miser's Dream.

But then it was pointed out that, because I do a lot of kids' shows, a youngster could try to emulate what I did when he or she got home. And I wouldn't want to be responsible for a young 'un ramming a coin into his hear and it getting stuck there, causing a serious injury.

So now I refer to it as "pulling a coin from BEHIND an ear."

muscle pass......

can be used as an effect on its own, or as a very useful sleight! I use it to ditch coins or transfer from hand to hand without ther spec seeing very frequently!

Huh?

Sorry, what is obvious exactly? The method?

I think Mr Vernon might disagree with you...
