Review

A DVD containing 3 tricks to be honest 2 of them are filling the most important and amazing trick is the optical bend a spoon bending movement, unlike most spoon bends it can be done in full sight of the audiance with an ungimicked spoon and the spoon never leaves the audiances view. a beautiful working trick, i havent pracitsed it much yet but i have already sucessfully bent a spoon with it!!

My first and faverate magic DVD

so pcwiz. It made me smile when you said it was your first and favourite dvd. I assume that if it is your only dvd it is also your worst one as well? (of course that assumes you still don'ty have any others.)

Have you had a chance to do the spoon bend to the general public yet?.

It certainly seems a funny, if not eclectic mix of magic. A coin vanish, a linking rubber band effect and a spoon bend.

Do you know if there a magician associated with this dvd (ie who is peforming on it) or is it something that Davenports has put out themselves?

The magician is Chad Sanborn.

From the review on penguin it looks like quite a nice bend. I haven't seen the dvd, but from the review I guess you would learn a few good principals of spoon bending (method and revelation). The misdirection is nice as well. What I don't think you'll get is some of the psychology behind spoon bending - ie. it's shown as a trick, rather than a phenomenon - I'm assuming that based on the other two effects on the dvd.
From what I've heard the elastic effect is mediocre.

It's different to Banachek and Osternland's stuff, although if you have Banachek and Osterland you'll know what he's doing.
He does the 'dirty work' very cleanly - I think that's probably the best thing about this routine.

Er personally i agree i am a loony that answers tom question its still the only magic DVD i have!!

er the mix is odd but its trying to show that you can do anything with misdirection
but yeah its a good mix
the bend i havent personally done in the public but i have seen it done in davenports loads of timeand watched peoples magicians and non-magicians (muggles??!!!??) alike and no one has had any idea how it was done yet!!

i saw a guy do it at davenports and i thought it was really good so i bought it. It is a good dvd but i am finding it quite hard to find any easy-to-bend spoons. Do you have any idea where i might be able some.Thanks

Try woolworths or ikea for cheap spoons
or Jumble sales are also good or charity shops as the are cheap.
try and get the pressed type they are the easiest to use

Probably the cheapest spoons and the easiest for bending are the smart price from Asda which are the same as the budget ones from Wilkinsons. 99p for a pack of 4.

Whilst I don't know too much about the spoons, I use their forms and find them ideal for my bending routines and would expect the spoons to be the same. You can't go wrong for 99p so definately worth a try out.
