Card reversal

Postby stevebo » May 16th, '09, 10:30

Hey guys!

I've been working on a sleight that is used to reverse a number of cards in the action of turning over a pack of cards.

The password for the video is talkmagic. It's password protected since I only wanted to post this here of Talkmagic.

My limited knowledge says that it is a.)Very nice and b.)Pretty original.

You might want to take a look at a move by Ken Krenzel, no not the Mechanical reverse, but a move that I am going to unhelpfully say I can't remember the source.

I shall look it up for ya!

It looks similar to the reversal taught in RRTCM. In Topsy-Turvy Cards I think?? But I believe the top card is reversed, not the bottom.

Am I allowed to say that?! I'll take it off if you want me to :)

You know what? I have no idea where my copy of RRTCM is! Should be in my library somewhere but it's not! So I don't know about Topsy Turvy Cards. Haven't really read RRTCM to be honest with you.

Well executed!

Aside from cutting off multiple packets at the end, this reversal is identical to one in the R. Paul Wilson RRTCM DVD (and presumably in the original text, but I don't have that in front of me.) It is also similar to the reversal in Card College vol. 2, p. 372 (although that one has the deck turning over along the other axis.)

I believe there reversal from RRTCM is also explained in detail in Card College.

Gotta say that i really liked the fan at the beginning of the video, im not a fan of finger acrobatics but that looked a casually nice way to fan half the deck....would like a breakdown as when i do it i seem to be fanning the blank indices of the cards!

The fan is Dan and Dave's "Carnahan Fan". And it honestly is a real attention grabber (not that I'm an attention seeker :P)!
