Silly question people..... Will someone please tell me what does CUPS mean or stand for? I gather its something to do with products you want to buy or something?

CUPS stands for Compulsive Uncontrollable Purchasing Syndrome and not, as is widely believed, Compulsive Unnecessary Purchasing Syndrome.

All purchases are necessary. Obviously.



If you like ESP effects, then I urge you - no, I demand - that you purchase Sam Dalal's Magic with an ESP Deck. It only costs a few quid and you'll be most impressed. Guaranteed.

Just reading your review of it on here.... So I now have E S Perfect, Sams book... and I guess I have to buy the BE2 deck as I've never bought an ESP deck before. All these on my CUPS list!... Now that I know what it means.


Now to find a shop that sells them all!

Thank you Replicant. I've read your review and have added Sam Dalal's booklet to my CUPS list. I did wonder about CUPS too, so thanks for putting me out of my misery hehe.

I bought Submodalities on Dale Shrimpton's recommendation in another thread.

The price is excellent, but why show a DVD case and printed sleeve on the website if it doesn't come with it?

I didn't care for Magicbox's attitude when I sent an e-mail about this. The reply was everything but service oriented and scared me away.

I have glanced through the DVD and it looks interesting, but the first thing I found out was that I needed to buy special gaffed deck of ESP cards that I found at Alakazam (thanks to Farie ) and they should arrive sometimes next week.

You don't need the Beyond ESP 2 deck in order to perform the effects on this DVD but I would recommend it as the best ESP deck on the market right now. If you don't use the BE2 deck, then you will have to get another marked deck, like the Royal Magic ESP deck.

gunnarkr, I'm very surprised to hear of your experiences with Magicbox. Personally, I wasn't that bothered that it didn't come in a case and only returned it to them because the DVD was so scratched. They were very good about it and sent me a replacement very quickly. But I think they should make it clear on their website that it doesn't come with a case.

I don't know when it was changed, but the description page on their site says that the reduced price doesn't include a full DVD case.

But you need some kind of gaffed ESP cards. In the sections I have watched you have to know what the sign is while the card is face down.

True, one of about 50 lines of text on the page, but they don't say anything abut the printed sleeve not being included. And that's false information! I don't mind the case, I have plenty of those around, but the sleeve is more important.

Fair comment. I wasn't too bothered about the lack of sleeve or case, but was surprised that the product I had delivered didn't match the image on the page. I had to revisit their site to check that I'd actually ordered the right thing, and only then noticed the text explaining the lowered price.

That's why I said you need a marked ESP deck. Beyond ESP 2, Royal Magic ESP deck or another marked deck. (Or mark your own).

True, but having one means you can perform more of the effects on the DVD.
