Syned Soy Box

Postby Groovebird » May 20th, '09, 10:07

does anyone here own the Syned Soy Box. The premise looks great. They say the spectator can examine the deck (and that you can use any deck you want) and they can examine the box.
Now I already have a great theme in mind for this trick but I'm just not sure if it's worth the money (around 180 euros or 160 pounds).

here is a little desciption: A small wooden box is handed to a spectator. The spectator opens the box and removes its contents - A small prediction envelope a deck of cards. The prediction envelope is opened and it contains one single playing card which is placed face down on the table. The spectator cuts the deck at any place and turns the cut at card face up. The prediction card on the table is turned face-up and it matches the freely cut at card. This is one of the most revolutionary and diabolical effects ever created. The box can be examined and the deck of cards is unprepared and only one prediction envelope is used

and here is a link to the item http://www.vikingmagic.com/?nd=full&key=1636
The name is different but it's the same trick.

it does sound great, but from what I've heard so far it's true. It can be inspected and there is a just a little (very very little) clean up necessary.

I have the original Syned Soy Box by Select Magic. It's a very strong effect that will astound even knowlegable magicians. Jos Denys spent may years perfecting and honing the effect and the method is incredible. It's been unavailable for some time and I knew that Viking had bought the rights but not released it yet - until now.

Not sure what your idea is for a presentation but I can tell you there is some set up involved so the props are not examinable before the routine. However, it does use an ordinary Bicycle deck and the box and cards can be examined after the performance and as you rightly say there is a simple clean up.

I'll have to see about posting a full review when I get time but hope this helps for now.
