"The best comedy magic act in this comp"

Postby MagicalSmithy » May 19th, '09, 00:23

Granted I was the only one

I went to the show, rigged jacket waiting to perform, getting very warm, sods law I was third from last of ten acts.

It went ok enough to get me through to the local finals.

My first trick went wrong as I thought I had dropped the volunteers card so I thumb counted another one off descreteley and when the card jumped it was not her card but lucky her card fell into my pocket (by total chance) so when she told me to take the card out of my pocket i did and gods bless it saved me.

One more hash up was that my coke went flat for the restored can but again the audience laughed with me not at me......allot of youg ladies came upto me at teh end and kissed me on the cheek and congratulated me then the organiser asked me to come to his pub as the resident entertainer (only once a week)

The big problem was that I had expected 20 people so when the dance group of thirty turned up and their fmailies to watch I ended up performing a close up routine infront of 120 people...but again I got through and got a job so YER.

So all in all my first show went great still will practice more but Tomorow is my day off.

Regards Smithy stay magical.

Thankyou, I am still shaking though....to make it worse only good looking and very distracting females where volunteering...

The got nervous when she through the deck at me and i took my shirt of to reveal her card written on my shirt....not a great trick but the wow factor is great.

I have to land from my last Family Holiday in Menorca on august 14th and rush to the venue to take part in the final....that will be fun....but for a cut of 5k I am willing to chop my leg off.

well done dude. It's a good thint that cute girls are interested in magic. A true story here on belgian television. Two guys were having a competition (real life tv) to get the most numbers out of the most girls on a party. One of them was a not-so-attractive guy and the other was. The not-so-attractive guy woudn't have a chanse with girls but he had a plan. He carried the ID with himself and performed it the whole night. He eventualy won.

Not saying you are not attractive cause i can't know. But cute girls LOVE magic. Where there are girls, there are cute girls.

Sorry for the little off topic stuff

greetings from belgium.

Tell me about it....I actually got a kiss on the cheek and it was from an under 40 ( well infact she was 17) WOWZERS.

And no i am not your attractive type.....Im slightly over weight, scraggy hair.....and one of them facial hair things going on where it trails from side to side.

But I must say many cases the cute girls where easy to fool because they just do not question it, which is great.

I done a comedy rope escape and the person who volunteered was totally unaware that i was taking my hands out and replacing them....to the shouts of Shes naturally blonde from ehr friends....(no offence to blondes I thnk your Gawjus)

Can not wait for my next show...no whisky next time... I love performing but just get so scared that ill screw up which in turn makes me screw up.

Next time no mistakes.

Well done on your first gig. Remember that you might have the odd bad night, but the vast majority of your gigs will be great fun. So don't get discouraged. You've got off to a great start, and now you have a regular gig, so you can really work on your presentation and have fun with your magic.

The buzz if wearing off atlast but now I need to prep for next weeks gig then the final on august 14th.

I do not know what I will do as if I pass the next round infront of 100 I have to perform for 5000 thats just rediculous for an amateur.

Nothing is ridiculous for an amateur. If you get there you will be there because you deserve it. Remember that and enjoy the ride. Good luck.
