Am I just being petty?

Postby Beardy » May 21st, '09, 03:59

Last week I brought pure effect off of eBay, cost me £115 plus £6 insured special delivery charge. When it arrived, although arriving safely, it only arrived via an uninsured recorded delivery, costing him/her less than £2 to send.

I've just emailed asking for a £4 refund. No doubt they will kick up a fuss and refuse.

When this happens, is it worth taking it further? Or should I just let it lie for the sake of £4? Even though it is the principle of the damn thing. There is no danger to my rating as I have already received positive feedback for prompt payment.

So what's your opinion? Stand ground? Or am I just being anal about it all?

Love

Chris

Four pounds or live with the regret forever when your living in a big house four pounds short on your utillities. Oh how you'll wish you had pestered that jerk who neglected to insure your pacakge. (IB?)

Hope that helped.

I'm always annoyed with things like that on ebay, write to him to get it off your chest, leave him positive feedback but make a note in the message you can leave and rate him one star on value of postage or what ever option you get.

£4 is £4 though, you'll soon forget it and you probably spend that on 2 lemonades down the union

£4 is small money, but it is a point of principal. I would e-mail him expressing my dissatisfaction, then mention it in the feedback. Then I would let it drop, as it will cost you more then £4 to get the £4.
I once sued a man over ten euro. It cost me twelve euro in the small claims court, and half a day. I got my ten euro, I got satisfaction, but it was a stupid waste of time and resources.
But if you ignore it you will be annoyed at yourself, so don't just ignore it.
By the way I bid on an item on e-bay, and just lost out on it. When the auction was over I discovered that the guy was charging over forty euro for postage - more than my losing bid on the item. There are some con men out there.

Send him a weighted package which costs 4 quid to deliver...then don't put any stamps on.

email the guy..i did with a seller on ebay who was selling something for £3.50 - with free postage...

i still emailed him and said "i wont be leaving you feedback, but i will say that its not worth £1.50, let alone the extra two quid..."

i also offered him some hints on what to do to improve the value of what he was selling...

not head back..

but i did feel better...

i was under the impression that P&P was kinda set though, via ebay? a bit like amazon new and used? may be wrong...

four quid though, surely you pay a lot more than that to get your nails done, beardy?

What a plonker. What would have happened had the parcel gone missing? It wasn't exactly a cheap item, so he was gambling being out of pocket £115 for the sake of an extra £4.

I'm full of principles and would have been really annoyed by this. £4 is £4. An email saying exactly what I think at the very least. Possibly negative feedback too.

Lenoir's suggestion was hilarious though

EDIT - FairieSnuff - will you not mind read me please? 1 minute apart, not bad! :P
