I just (happily) stumbled into this forum and I'm excited at the prospect of reading all of your posts! I'm an eager oldbie (can't believe I'm 30, yuck) who was bitten at a young age but can't seem to get from theoretical to practical. I have the standard "bookshelf full of good magic books" (should probably read that copy of "Our Magic" sometime...) and "abandoned box full of magic apparatus I really liked the description of when I bought it but never actually use" but .. well...

I'm sure you'll soon see your stock of magic books and props in a different light after reading through some of the posts here - they regularly reawaken long slumbering interest in magic for many newcomers and, as I'm sure most here will agree, there's rarely anything new in magic, just new presentations. US born magician, now resident in the UK, John Lenahan has a motto which applies well here - 'Classics are clasics for a reason'. Once again, welcome to TM!
