My first posted trick

Postby LiQuiDBuLL3TZZ » May 23rd, '09, 17:15

Its my first recorded trick. i amaze people with this all of the time.

Effect: a spectator chooses a card randomly out of a deck of ordinary cards. Than places it back into the deck. After few quick shuffles, the magician finds the spectators card.

Something you must learn is to create magic. What you've performed is not magic and people will realise that straight away, you've got to create a sense of wonder.

The same trick, if you don't want anything else technically could be a lot better just by a bit of thought and practice.

Do the exact same thing, but don't tell them or show them that you know what the card is.

Put the deck down, admit defeat and say you aren't very good at sleight of hand. You could then tell them to just think of the card and slowly reveal it's name.

I guarantee you'll get better reactions that way.

I know this isn't what you were doing, but it looks like you picked a card, looked at it, shuffled the deck, then spread through and picked that card out again.

Film yourself performing the trick FOR someone, otherwise there's no magic there at all.

Still, kudos for putting yourself out there.

Thank you guys. i didnt look at the card. i showed it to the camera...in a real situation the spectator would have selected a card and then placed it back in the deck. i tried to make it work with just one person doing the trick.

Serendipity: yes, maybe i will film a prefomance for somebody once this weekend is over.

Lenoir: in a real life situation while preforming for a crowd, the spectator would have selected a card and placed it in the deck. at that point i am completely clueless about their card. i just did it by myself and i didnt look at the card. i showed it to the camera and put it back into the deck.

Im going to post more tricks soon to come.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. i apprieciate it. and by the way Lenoir, i will try your way.

Thank you and keep commenting!!!
